Meet Ben

Picking a movie shouldn’t take longer than watching one.

I started Ben’s Movie Guide because “What should we watch?” shouldn’t be the hardest question of the evening.

Sometimes the best thing to watch tonight came out thirty years ago. Sometimes it just opened. I’m here to help you find something worth your evening.

How I pick

Would I recommend it?

I lean toward movies that are entertaining, engaging, and a good use of your time. Prestige is nice, but if it’s not a good watch, it’s not making the list.

Good movies don’t expire.

A movie doesn’t stop being worth watching because something newer came along. There’s plenty worth finding—or finding again—outside the new-release section.

Your evening matters.

Our tastes won’t always line up. That’s fine. I’ll tell you what I liked, what bothered me, and who I think might enjoy it. You can take it from there.

Let’s find your next movie.
