If you watched Netflix's The Wrong Missy, starring David Spade and Lauren Lapkus, and found yourself wondering where all those beautiful beaches and luxury hotel scenes were filmed, the answer is Oahu, Hawaii. Most of the movie's tropical mayhem takes place at the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, a real luxury resort on the island's western coast. And yes, you can actually stay there.

Oahu: A Pretty Good Place for a Terrible Vacation

Oahu is Hawaii's third-largest island and home to Honolulu, Waikiki Beach, and Pearl Harbor. But The Wrong Missy takes us away from the busy tourist areas and over to Ko Olina, a resort community on the island's sunnier western coast. It's known for its beautiful lagoons, calm water, and spectacular sunsets.

Of course, the scenery provides quite a contrast to what's happening in the movie. Tim (David Spade) thinks he's headed to paradise with the woman of his dreams. Instead, he accidentally invites the wrong Missy, and what should have been a relaxing corporate retreat turns into one disaster after another. At least he couldn't have picked a prettier place to be miserable.

The Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina

The resort featured in the movie is the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, and this is definitely not your average beach hotel. The upscale property features 370 rooms and suites, four swimming pools, fine dining, an extensive spa, and direct access to a beautiful beach. It's the kind of place where you might spend more on a weekend than you would on an entire vacation somewhere else.

Here's an interesting bit of movie trivia: the same property also appeared in the 2002 surfing movie Blue Crush, back when it operated as a JW Marriott. It later became a Four Seasons in 2016. So if you're looking to recreate Tim's Hawaiian getaway, you can book a room at the very same resort.

Just make absolutely certain you're inviting the right person.
